Ancillary Systems Optimization Added Values

At General Labs, we have helped one of our partners save hundreds of thousands of dollars by optimizing their thermal fluid heating system, the optimization has helped them decrease energy consumption, downtime, and maintenance cost.

Designing a closed steam network has helped one of our partners decrease water consumption, industrial drainage, and energy consumption.

We have helped one of our partners change from steam tracing to electrical tracing, leading to a significant decrease in energy consumption and maintenance costs.

At General Labs, we have helped one of our clients comply with CAGI leading to a significant decrease in compressed air system leakages, energy consumption, and energy cost.

Proper sizing of the compressed air system piping system will help you decrease pressure drop, saving you energy and maintenance costs. According to CAGI; energy for a pressure drop of 3-5 psi will add 0.27 – 0.45 kW/100 cfm.

Proper pressure regulation for the compressed air system will help you decrease leakages, and components failure leading to lower maintenance costs and lower energy consumption. According to CAGI; a 1/4 inch diameter orifice with 100 psig on one side and atmospheric pressure on the other will have a flow rate of 104 acfm of free air. At 110 psig the flow rate increases to 113 acfm. The combined effect of an increase of 5% in power for the 10 psi pressure increase, combined with the 8.6% increase in leakage flow rate, results in an overall power increase of approximately 14%.
